Found my motivation hiding in my pocket today. Brought the gym bag to work and as painful as it was to just "step away from the computer" I managed to find myself in the locker room and before I knew it, ready to run. Since the nasty heat of summer has hit, I decided not to give myself a stroke and run outside, but rather test out the new and improved gym here at work. Not bad, nice machines, found a fairly nice treadmill facing the window overlooking the greenbelt and settled into a brief warmup. Cranked up to a comfortable jogging pace, checked the clock and sat back ready to cruise for the next 30 minutes. In an awkward, slightly uncomfortable twist, my director soon stepped onto the treadmill next to me, so I spent the entire time trying not to show the pain and struggle I was feeling, and also not to follow the rhythm of his steps - an all too easy thing to do when jogging along side someone. BUT, I managed to power through, my body didn't hurt, my lungs were in check, and I made it to the end of my run.
